I think we figured out a way to cure jet lag when you travel from the west to the east. Very simple... don't go to bed the night before you leave. Here is what happened to us.
On Friday before our Saturday noon departure we ended up doing a few extra things, including having dinner with Lee and Kelly. Then, by the time we got home, we had a ton of packing and stuff to do. Since I had been away the week before Beth and I really hadn't discussed how and what we wanted to take. End result, almost a sleepless night. Beth didn't go to bed till 4AM and when she did the neighbors smoke alarm went off because they were painting. (I never heard it because I was SOUND asleep).
So in the morning, we got up after a very brief nap, staggered to the airport by way of Diana, Beth's mom giving us a lift and then stumbled onto the plane. With a nearly sleepless night behind us we couldn't help but sleep on the plane. Since our arival was 6AM London time we were well rested, if not completely rest-LESS from the long flight but now it was time to start a new day.

In what is looking to be a tradition on our vacations, Chris has decided to read another book. (He VERY rarely reads). This book is called "Bono, in Conversation with Michka Assayas". This book represents the outcome of multiple, long and personal interviews with Bono from a man who has known him from the early 80's. It is revealing about their musical process and journey as well as insightful on things of this world and the next. Bono reveals in a way that is casual and meaningful about his faith. Something that he has never really done in great detail in the past. It's a great book and I highly recommend it.
